GOAL: Scheduled for spring 2022, this 7-week curriculum builds participants’ and congregations’ capacity to add power to the movement for Housing for All in Silicon Valley. The program includes 3 self-guided preparation sessions for congregational groups or individuals, 3 online gatherings led by the core team from the Silicon Valley Faith Leaders Collaborative, and a major organizing event that empowers participants to make a change. Through this program, participants:
Gain an overview of the current housing and houselessness problem in Santa Clara County
Hear from those most impacted and connect with organizations engaged in addressing this problem
Assess their own and their congregation’s readiness for action, through honest reflection on their attitudes, experience, and the call of their faith
Learn the key skills for making change
Commit to taking action for Housing for All
About the Curriculum
Curriculum Structure:
3 sections, then the Big Event
Each section includes one 90-minute self-guided preparation session (i.e., led by the participating congregation/group); preparation includes some reading and to-do’s outside of the 90-minute session.
Each section is capped by a multi-congregational, all-participants 90-minute Zoom session led by SVFLC Core Team.
Each Zoom session concludes with signups for actions before the next preparation session.
