The Silicon Valley Faith Leaders Collaborative (SVFLC) was founded in 2020 by eight clergy—Rabbi Dana Magat, Rev. Dr. Bryan Franzen, Fr. Jon Pedigo, Rev. Nancy Palmer-Jones, Rev. Sammie Evens, Rev. Ray Montgomery, Rev. Dana Bainbridge and Rev. Steve Pinkston—in response to the racial unrest and moral crisis ignited by police brutality and the killings of Black Americans.

At its inception, the Collaborative acknowledged the historic and ongoing complicity of faith communities in systems of discrimination and injustice against non‑majority groups. From this recognition emerged a shared commitment: to listen more deeply, speak more boldly, and act more faithfully in solidarity with those most impacted by harm.

SVFLC was formed to amplify marginalized voices, educate faith leaders and congregations, and examine how religious beliefs, structures, and actions affect the lives of others—both for good and for harm.

Today, the Collaborative continues to support and uplift communities disaffected by discriminatory laws, policies, and acts of hate originating from governmental systems and organized hate groups, as well as from within our own local context.

Our ongoing work includes:
  - Weekly clergy check-ins to foster accountability, mutual support, and spiritual grounding
  - Community-building through interfaith dialogue and relationship-building
  - Public witness and advocacy rooted in faith

Past actions have included protest marches in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, educational forums on creating welcoming and inclusive communities, and public advocacy through rallies, public statements, and information sharing to advance a more just Silicon Valley.
